Purpose, Mission, and Vision.
The Pawahari Smriti Parishad School was established in 1988 and registered on June 15th, 1986 by the Association for India's Development (AID) in the name of Pawahari Baba. This was upon the advice of Dr. Viveki Rai, a well known Hindi writer who has been awarded three times by the President of India. Pawahari Baba was one of the greatest saints of the 19th century born in Ghazipur. Swami Vivekananda visited him in 1890, spent much time with him, and wrote a book on him titled A Saint of Ghazipur.
Ghazipur is located on the bank of the Ganges River near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh (eastern India). This area is one of the most underdeveloped and economically backward areas of the country. Due to malnutrition, poor health conditions, low per capita income, lack of education, and no aid from non-governmental organizations, there are many poor, helpless, and disabled people. However, aiming to contribute in bringing Ghazipur to the main stream of national development, this school was established.
As a school, we are trying to materialize the high hopes and dreams of Swami Vivekananda and Pawahari Baba. This school was primarily established with the main object of aiding disabled and destitute persons; we have been seamlessly working to improve their conditions by educating them and making them financially independent by providing vocational and professional educational training. Our mission is to teach and train students to become self-reliant, regardless of disability or financial hardships, to pave the way for bright futures.
